The Corinthian began its life as St. Charles Borromeo Church in 1915 and became a beacon of the Waltham community for over a century.
Commissioned to serve the burgeoning population in the area, St. Charles was a center of gatherings, celebrations, and ceremonies for generations of families—the heart of a community where connections were forged and memories made.
Originally designed by architect James F. Monaghan, the building stands as one of the finest examples of Italian Renaissance Revival architecture in the Boston area. With its terracotta brick structure, stone trim, and majestic Corinthian columns, St. Charles Borromeo Church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
Today, this beloved landmark has been meticulously restored to bring new life into its storied walls in the form of 20 exceptional, individually unique condominiums.
Every detail of the restoration has been considered to honor its legacy. The iconic Corinthian columns, grand arching windows that once bathed the pews in natural light, and stunning millwork have been lovingly preserved and enhanced, while the original design’s clean lines and stately features retain their integrity.
